Wire Sawing
SERVICE DETAIL

Wire Sawing

Diamond wire sawing for deep, thick, or irregular concrete and reinforced structures where conventional blades cannot reach.

Wire sawing uses a continuous diamond-impregnated cable loop driven by a pulley system to cut through heavily reinforced concrete, thick sections, and irregular shapes that exceed the capacity of track or slab saws. The wire can navigate tight access points, cut through walls several feet thick, and produce virtually vibration-free cuts with no dust. It is the go-to method for oversized foundations, bridge piers, reactor shields, and heavily congested rebar where precision and access are critical.

Applications

Thick concrete walls and foundations beyond 24 inches
Bridge piers, abutments, and deck removals
Mass concrete structures and reactor shields
Heavily reinforced columns and beams
Underwater and submerged concrete cuts
Tight-access areas where blade saws cannot fit
Large machinery bases and equipment pads
Irregular or contoured cuts in concrete

Project Examples

Bridge Pier Demolition

Sawed through a 6-foot-thick reinforced bridge pier using diamond wire to section the concrete for removal during a Lower Mainland highway retrofit—no vibration damage to adjacent structures.

Thick Foundation Removal

Cut a 4-foot-thick industrial machinery foundation into transportable blocks for a plant modernization, working around dense rebar and embedded steel.

Confined-Space Wall Cut

Completed a deep cut through a heavily reinforced basement wall in a tight mechanical room where wall saw track could not be installed, using remote wire pulleys.

Underwater Intake Modification

Modified a submerged concrete intake structure using wire sawing equipment configured for wet cutting conditions at a municipal water facility.
